ENSEMBLE

ENSEMBLE

“a group of things or people acting or taken together as a whole”

The Al Green Sculpture Studio is pleased to present new works from its members for our first in person exhibition in 3 years.

Despite many obstacles with the lockdowns and subsequent restrictions on capacity in our studio, this group of our members have persevered in their desire to create, and it is this desire that helped carry them through in these very difficult times.

These works represent the triumph of their artistic spirit.

The Al Green Sculpture Studio is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that is now in its 22ndyear.

It was the vision of our founder Al Green, (1925-2016) (sculptor, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Order of Canada recipient) that anyone with the desire to sculpt regardless of prior experience should have a welcoming, inclusive, accessible environment in which to learn and develop their skills.

With approximately 50 members, our studio continues to thrive and evolve its vision and has recently established a “The Breakthrough Scholarship” for untapped BIPOC, emerging artists.

We are proud of the accomplishment of our members, many of whom had not sculpted before becoming members, some of whom have been awarded public art commissions, art grants, inclusion in the Artist Project, many group exhibitions in various galleries and several solo exhibitions.

Al’s vision lives on in these works.
