Leading her band of Canada's top jazz musicians and a large orchestra, JUNO Award-winning jazz vocalist Emilie-Claire Barlow will bring to life her much anticipated 11th album Clear Day (October 2015). Recorded with Holland's Metropole Orkest, this dynamic new project highlights her inventive arrangements and pushes her vocal style to a new level. Joining Barlow and the orchestra is composer, orchestrator and conductor Jules Buckley, a musical pioneer who pushes the boundaries of contemporary genres. In 2004 Buckley co-founded the Heritage Orchestra, dedicated to performing new music with a daring approach to crossing and linking musical genres. In 2013, he was appointed Chief Conductor of Holland’s Metropole Orkest, where recent highlights include acclaimed collaborations with Wretch 32 and other UK Grime artists for the BBC 1Xtra Prom, Snarky Puppy, Gregory Porter, Kurt Elling, Tori Amos, UK house music duo Basement Jaxx and others. Buckley has worked with a wide range of artists including Massive Attack, Arctic Monkeys, John Cale, Emeli Sandé, Cinematic Orchestra, Caro Emerald, Professor Green, Beardyman, Chilly Gonzales, Tim Minchin, Dizzee Rascal, Patrick Watson and many more.
