EXCO LEVI

The man who I call "one of the hardest working artists in show business". This man is everywhere, if you listen to Reggae I can bet you have heard him more than once.... more than 20 times. He has released much of his own singles and albums with great success and has collaborated with some of the top Reggae artists and producers such as; Busy Signal, Kabaka Pyramid, Gappy Ranks, I Octane, Silly Walks Discoteque, Marcia Griffiths, Romaine Virgo and many many more. After just receiving his 6th Juno award for Best Reggae Recording and playing longside one of the biggest artists in Reggae - Chronixx, it is clear this artist continues to rise!

Watching him perform, it is glaringly evident to see not only his talent but also his passion for the music, his message and his experience. It is difficult not to get excited and touched by his works. He plays out at some of the biggest shows and festivals locally and around the world so we are honoured to have him perform for our 5th Anniversary!

CHOPPA CHOP

Returning from his annual trip to Jamaica, Choppa is set to share what is bubbling currently in the land where it all began, along with the foundation music we all love to hear! Being and performing in Kingston and across JA has given Choppa the opportunity to play out at legendary venues and parties including; Dub Club, Jam One International, Wickie Wackie, Vinyl Thursdays (at Veggie Meals on Meals), Vinyl Sundays (in Drapers, Portland) and Edna Manley College. This gave him the chance to perform with, and alongside artists/selectors such as; Ranking Joe, King Harar, Gabre Selassie, Exile di Brave, Kazam Davis, Infinite, TJ (“Likkle Briggie”) and Nesbeth.

Choppa began learning the tools of his trade - 2 turntables and a mixer - in ’94. After spending considerate time in St.Lucia, beginning in 1996, his sets started leaning heavily in Reggae. Continuing his education in another field in Scotland, it is there that his sound “Big Toe’s Hi-Fi” was born and the first hi-fi was built. Choppa Chop ran his sound throughout Scotland and the UK for the next 10 years. There are now three chapters (Toronto area/New Mexico/Leeds), each with their own custom made soundsystem. Currently living in Mono, Ontario, Choppa Chop’s influence by Kilimanjaro and other sounds from that time is still evident in his format and style, with a heavy emphasis on playing vinyl. The majority of his selections are presented and played in a unique juggling style. Roots, Rocksteady, Retro Dancehall, Foundation, Rub a Dub are what comprises Choppa’s sets. From the 70’s to what is being created right now.

G-SPOT

This man can play any genre and style of music. He is the man behind "Pots&Pans Radio" a show that features incredible podcasts of all styles. Because of his versaltility, you can consistently find him playing around town at a numerous parties and events. He keeps his own event "Dubs N Dabs" biweekly at the Hotbox Cafe. A self proclaimed "Vinylcologist", with over 26 years of being a selector (24 of those playing strictly vinyl), you can't help but to agree!
