Ian Andre Espinet's world renowned Soul Kitchenis an embodiment of the music of the great R&B and soul artists who pioneered the genre, and a continuance of their path. Its focus is to present an outlet for the often under-appreciated genre of soul, as represented in its varied forms including but not limited to R&B (rhythm and blues), new jack (late 80s, early 90s R&B), the Motown era and neo (current), as well as hybrid relatives such as hip hop soul and vocal house. This event is a manifestation of their music, and a celebration of real music. For music lovers only. No posing. No pretense.
