DJ Skate Nights: Nino Brown & Dre Ngozi

Strap on your skates for the end of this season's DJ Skate Nights! Nino Brown and Dre Ngozi spin the best of hip-hop, dancehall, and global house at this party on ice celebrating diversity and inclusivity.

Nino Brown is a founder of Canada’s premiere inclusive dance party Yes Yes Y'all (YYY/Toronto), which has been voted one of the city’s top jams since its birth in 2009. The YYY crew is known for their emphasis on diversity and inclusivity, and their event has become a Toronto institution, attracting both local and international talent. In 2012, Nino founded YYY’s sister event in Montreal, the monthly Cousins Party. In addition, she provides resident DJ/promoter duties all over some of Toronto’s hottest events, and spearheaded an underground urban music movement in the city that links urban electronic music, style, politics and a proper rave.

Dre Ngozi has been featured on Boiler Room TV, Radar Radio LDN and Noisey, and has opened for folks like Majid Jordan, Teyana Taylor and The Internet. She’s been on the bill for some of Toronto’s hottest parties like Yes Yes Y’all, Baregyal, Dudebox and High Power, and thanks to her roots in the Caribbean and West Africa, she spins a wicked musical tale of sounds, from hip-hop, island riddims, and afro-vibes to global house and electronic energies.
