Travel to a Catskills resort in 1963 with idealistic young Frances “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Grey) who’s ready for a boring old summer with her conservative family. So when she stumbles upon a raucous staff party rampant with the titular “dirty dancing,” she’s shocked to find herself powerfully drawn to the resort’s lead dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze with the “dreamy” dial turned up to 11).

Soon Baby is sneaking out after dark, and doing swan lifts in the water, and learning to horizontal mambo with the guy from the wrong side of the tracks.
