P
super rare live performance by fenwick ontario's best kept secret(s). a singer songwriter for the unexpressed emotion, and as good a friend as 1 can find. come and remember what it means to be earnest.
Vannessa Barnier
founder of legible intelligibles and our poetry ambassador of this good night. expect new poems about choice subjects.
Small Orbit
1 of toronto's most glowing energies. piecing together mouthfuls of forgotten pop songs from a dream. Small Orbit is for the sad, the hopeful, and the as-of-yet undecided, so listen carefully. the moon will be nearing its full potential and this is my pick of the night.
Del Stephen & The Concrete Canvas Group
an early autumn conversation with Misaki Shibuya, a visual artist from Japan, and lead painter in the Concrete Canvas Group, was the impetus for this whole concert. I asked if she would be interested in doing a live painting during a future set, and she was enthusiastic, but told me that she would only be in the country til mid-November. and so with little time wasted, I assembled this trusted group of artists I believe in (Jeff Sinibaldi, Andrew Finlay Stewart, and Elizabeth Lima) and 2 special guests (Small Orbit and P) that ought to share their music as well. expect to hear group expansions on recent solo ventures, improvisations, and new arrangements for the season. I have a very good feeling about this and we're meeting next week.
