In part with 350.org and Power Shift Canada I will be hosting an April Fossil Fool's event....on April Fool's Day....yes April 1st, doubt you can forget now!

The themed action is against the social and economic dependence on environmentally damaging fossil fuel extraction and use; which in turn, as I am sure you can guess, has grave repercussions for humans as beings dependent on the natural world processes that provide us fresh air, water, and food.

Although it may seem fitting to stage faux oil and fracking rigs across the downtown core, I have decided to take a different journey. Instead I want to focus on the appropriation of land, resources, and industries throughout colonialism to the present day. I hope to create an artistically pleasing and durable banner that will allow participants and onlookers an opportunity to travel through time and realize the ever lasting effects of colonialism on our industries, economies, and espeically our consciousness....highlighting as Marx states the fundamental contradictions of capitalism
