Crossing the Channel

The mellifluous style—the contenance angloise—pioneered by John Dunstaple and other English composers changed the musical landscape on both sides of the Channel, in the rival courts of England, France and Burgundy. We welcome one of North America’s leading specialists in this style, guest Artistic Director Scott Metcalfe, as he leads The Consort through a program exploring the marvellous music of Dunstaple, Du Fay, Frye and contemporaries, for voices, recorders, percussion, fiddle and harp.
