What: Collective NOW Unconscious Opening Night Reception for the newest collage exhibit by Italian artist Franco Berti. The exhibition will be on display for the month of January.

Collective NOW Unconscious presents an assemblage of conceptually linked collages constructed through the recuperation of ephemeral cultural materials otherwise destined as refuse - the cover of Toronto’s free weekly paper, NOW.

As its generative principle, the series pursues the mechanical operation of meticulously fusing two identical magazine covers into a single inscrutable object, arriving at a vision which can be understood as the unconscious retention of an ubiquitous social image, replete with blurred details and hybridized sentiments as well as other artifacts of memory distortion.
