Clown Wedding: An immersive queer-punk theatre experience
Pizza Bush and Jal present “Clown Wedding: A queer, punk theatrical Halloween extravaganza!”
Come witness a one-time only performance of Clown Wedding - a unique punk-comedy theatre experience. Audience members become attendees with a highly immersive level of interaction. Woven into the theatrics are musical performances by Pizza Bush and Jal as well as a drag performance by Pickles Lavey. Don’t miss this show that combines punk rock, anti-folk, and burlesque for a wedding you will never forget (til death do you part).
Pizza Bush — Pizza Bush have been lighting Toronto punk bars on fire this year with their unique brand of antifolk, punk, and audaciously crude silliness. (Think Mouldy Peaches + Bikini Kill + Weird Al). They continue to push the envelope by hosting immersive punk theatre with themes like ‘Conspiracy Theory’ and ‘Renaissance Fair,’ at venues like Baby G . Their audience is growing thanks to their songs that build a niche for those queer, neurodivergent, and digestively-challenged. The costumes are ridiculous and the harmonies are captivating.
JAL — JAL can be described as an alien drag freak who is pretending to be a teen pop star with hyperpop-rock-rave-punk vibes with freaky masked guitarist shredding overtop.
Pickles -- Pickles LaVey is a queer performance artist who travels internationally doing burlesque, sideshow, drag, and dark magic. They have performed in events such as New York Burlesque Festival, Toronto Burlesque Festival, London Burlesque Festival and Southern Sideshow Hootenanny! Pickles is a grotesque goblin show pony, and a black mass of disquieting titillation!
Doors at 8pm at Houndstooth on College and Ossington. PWYC.
