Christie Pits Film Festival
This summer at Christie Pits Film Festival, audiences can look forward to eight Sunday evenings of curated short and feature film pairings in a programme titled Another World, a summer-long series that takes place at four parks across Toronto.
Another World invites audiences to join us on a journey beyond accepted reality into the unknown possibilities of existence. There are many other worlds to be explored: the worlds of our dreams (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), the distant reaches of space (Viking) and fantastical journeys to new realms (Interstella 5555), the backyard worlds of childhood imagination (The Wizard of Oz, Fantastic Mr. Fox), and the cultural and memory spaces that queer, racialized, gendered, and other marginalized communities cultivate and hold dear (Riceboy Sleeps, Brokeback Mountain). As in past seasons, the complete programme will feature a curated mix of feature films from around the world alongside shorts from local and Canadian filmmakers.
When:
Every Sunday from July 9 to August 27
