Christie Pits Film Fest Closing Night: The Talented Mr. Ripley
On closing night, join us for a 20th anniversary screening of THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY!
A queer tale of stolen identity, Anthony Minghella’s adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s magnificent 1955 novel of the same name, THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY gives us one of cinema’s richest characters in Tom Ripley. A lowly piano tuner with a talent for impersonations, Tom takes a unique opportunity to travel to Italy, fooling trust fund playboy Dickie Greenleaf into believing they were once good friends. As Tom’s attraction to Dickie’s comfortable lifestyle grows, so too does his affection for the American socialite. Dickie and his life soon become one and the same, and Tom must possess both.
In Winnifred Jong's THE OFFER Richard wakes up to find his life has been packed into boxes, but before he can sort out what is going on, Gabe, a door-to-door salesman, charms his way in.
