With the City of Toronto Ward 23 Councillor Cynthia Lai as the honorary chair, the Chinese New Year Marketplace and Festival will be held at Woodside Square on January 23-26, 2020. The four-day event will showcase the traditional merchandise for preparing for the lunar new year celebrations, festive foods, a wishing tree for making well-wishes for the upcoming Year of the Rat, and free entertainment such as dragon dance, lion dance, folk songs and dance, New Year’s Eve countdown show on Jan. 25 at 10 pm. God of Fortune will hand out lucky red packets. Lucky draw prizes and giveaways throughout the festival.
