Chamber Music Recital

The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites you to join us as our Music & Culture students end the semester with a free concert, our annual summer Chamber Music Recital.

The recital will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm in room AA303 of the Arts & Administration Building at UTSC (1265 Military Trail). Admission is free and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy an evening of beautiful classical and contemporary music. Light refreshments will be served.

The Chamber Music course is now in its fifth year at UTSC. The focus of this course has been the study and performance of chamber music – music written for small ensembles with no conductor and which emphasizes the interplay between distinct musical lines and sounds. By focusing on individual musical ideas working together to create complex and interesting musical textures, students in the course learn how to effectively communicate with each other, to listen intently to what they and their colleagues are doing, and to clarify their musical ideas.

The Chamber Music Recital at UTSC is generously supported by MBNA, Manulife Financial, and TD Insurance.
