Canstruction Toronto 2018 Exhibition Preview and Awards Ceremony
Please join us for the 19th annual Canstruction® Toronto Exhibition Preview and Awards Ceremony.
Canstruction® is an international annual design and build competition to raise awareness about the growing hunger gap. Teams of architects, engineers, designers and students design and build ‘Canstructures’, structures made entirely from canned foods within a 10’x10’x8’ space. Teams compete for the titles: Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal, People’s Choice, Most Cans, and Best Original Design. A jury will judge the completed structures anonymously on May 16, 2017 and the winners will be announced at an evening reception held at the Design Exchange, with Master of Ceremonies Francis D’Souza, reporter and anchor at CityNews.
Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be available.
After the competition and exhibition, the structures are decanstructed and all of the cans are donated to Daily Bread Food Bank, Toronto’s largest community food bank.
