Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress

19th Annual Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress - The Canadian Salsa Event of the Year

The longest running event in Canada & one of the largest & most anticipated events in North America.

TORONTO, ONT. — The Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress is returning for its 19th edition on October 5th to 9th at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

After a successful comeback from COVID-19-related shutdowns in 2022, CSBC continues to grow the event with even more artists gathering for an international celebration of dance.

"Salsa and bachata are social dances," said Jennifer Aucoin, the founder and producer of the Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress. "They are about community, connection and culture. They bring a sense of belonging to people's lives. To our community, this is not just a hobby, this is a way to connect — to themselves, to others and to the music."

This year's event will host 35 international artists and 30 Canadian artists and more than 500 amateur performers and competitors. Headlining artists include:

Tito Ortos and Tamara Livolsi (Puerto Rico), world renowned performers, choreographers and judges who have participated in several movies, including El Cantante and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights;

Maykel Fonts (Cuba), one of the most recognized Cuban dancers in the world. This multi-discliplinary dancer, choreographer, coach and actor graduated from the most famous dance school in Cuba, the Tropicana, and has went on to dance at several festivals, on TV programs and for well-known salsa artists.

Adriano Ieropoli and Samantha Scali (Montreal), the first Canadian couple to have won a world title in the Professional Salsa On2 division at the 2017 World Salsa Championships, also defending their title for three consecutive seasons. The two starred in the Quebec TV show Révolution.

The event will also see the return of in-person competitions and nightly social dancing parties. About 2,000 people per day are expected to attend.

"All these people are coming together and passionate about the same thing," said Aucoin. "There is a sense of joy and excitement. It's electric."
