Canada Modern: The first golden era of Canadian modernist graphic design

Presented as part of DesignTO Festival 2021

Discover a formative era in Canadian design history through the Canada Modern collection, an archive of Canadian modernist graphic design from the years 1960-85.

On display for the first time is a selection of objects from the archive, celebrating the development of a truly distinct and exciting Canadian visual identity with projects including the Montreal Summer Olympics, Expo 67, CBC, and Canadian National Railways, along with many lesser known designs that continues to shape our understanding of what 'Canadian' is.

Exhibition is free and all are welcome.

Participants: Antonio Carusone, Shelby Guergis, Julian Montague, Juan Saavedra, and designers represented in the Canada Modern collection.
