Chase the blues away with Buster Keaton. The century old Fox Theatre in the Beach is going silent-silent film that is. But you can bet that the laughter will be heard out on the street when this film is playing.

There's nothing better than Buster Keaton to chase the cold, dark fall days away. So get your Buster fix with a comedy masterpiece that packs more stunts, more gags, more laughter into its 70min than most modern flicks do in twice the time. Insane, surreal and completely inventive as Keaton tries to win his gal and respect from his estranged dad. Combine that with a cyclone sequence that will literally take your breath away, and you've got it all.

Bill Jr. is returning home to his steamboat captain father (played with scene stealing perfection by craggy Ernest Torrence) after spending his entire life with his mother far away from the riverboat world. Dad is hoping for a big strapping lad to help him out on his rundown boat but a delicate youth turns up with an absurd ukulele tucked under his arm and even more absurd hat on his head. Needless to say, things go downhill from there. Worse, Keaton has fallen for the daughter of his father’s arch rival in the steamboat business.

Keaton’s face as always remains serenely impeccable throughout the escalating maelstrom of comedy climaxing in the most extraordinary sight gag in history-the falling wall of a house (with a small window strategically placed), literally weighing tons, missing our hero with inches to spare on either side. It’s only one in a seemingly endless series of thrilling sight gags and stunts.

There is no better place to experience a silent film than sitting in an historic theatre, watching the master himself up on the big screen.
