Brave Festival
Be Brave.
Bravery is the strength to face fear and danger. It demands risking failure in order to defy the expected and succeed.
BRAVE: The Festival of Risk and Failure asks this question: If all we have to fear is fear itself, why be afraid?
We present Brave because the way new ideas are created is by rejecting existing ones. This takes courage and performing truth to power.
The artists you’ll see here are fearless and defiant. Some are flame-throwers. Others, exiled from their homes and native lands. All of them disrupt authority for a living. They know tears and pain, and still they persist.
They’re brave.
They have much to teach us.
From July 12 to 29, Harbourfront Centre presents some of the world’s most courageous, outlandish artists, thinkers, writers, and musicians. They’ll share the risks, the failures and triumphs that have made them synonymous with daring. Their work and their stories are funny, sad, piercing and odd. They embrace risk, and failure is their constant companion. Yet here they are, telling us in a loud voice...
Don’t Behave. Be Brave.
