Boosie Fade Film Club Presents: JUICE on 35mm

26 years after its premiere, Boosie Fade Film Club is proud to present Ernest Dickerson's 1992 film, JUICE, on 35mm, at the Bell TIFF Lightbox on Thursday, November 8th at 9:00.

An off-shoot of the popular hip-hop and R&B discussion community, Boosie Fade: The GroupBoosie Fade Film Club is an online community dedicated to the appreciation and discussion of film and television. This marks Boosie Fade Film Club's third event with TIFF.

"The idea may be familiar, but the execution is much better [...], thanks to natural, affecting performances from the principals and a very sharp visual style. Mr. Dickerson, whose cinematography has been the reason Spike Lee's films look so good, has a terrific eye and some juice of his own." — Janet Maslin, The New York Times

Four teenage friends (Omar Epps, Tupac Shakur, Jermaine Hopkins, and Khalil Kain) in Harlem with a penchant for petty mischief decide to raise the stakes and rob a convenience store. When things don't go according to plan, friends turn into foes, and a thrilling yet sinister game of cat and mouse ensues. With an iconic soundtrack including songs by Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, and Salt-N-Peppa, the film features stand-out performances from Epps and Shakur, as well as appearances by a collection of hip-hop legends such as Queen Latifah, Fab 5 Freddy, Dr. Dre, and Ed Lover.

Following the film, there will be an after-party with drinks and music.
