Join Heritage Toronto and the Friends of Hanlan’s on the August long weekend to commemorate the anniversary of Canada's first Pride with a plaque unveiling and on-site activities at Hanlan’s Point!

Learn about the history of Canada's oldest queer space and celebrate queer elders from the first Pride who will be in attendance! Explore the legacy of queer advocacy and activism on the Toronto Islands and beyond. Engage with the community with historical interpretation and activations throughout the day!

Join us at 11:00am for a special unveiling of a new Heritage Toronto plaque about the history of queer space at Hanlan’s Point and the first pride picnic held there.

Activities and other events celebrating the history of the site will follow, including a drag performance at 1:30pm by the one and only Pam!
