Benjamin Gibson Photography Show - Canada Series #1
The CF TD Centre in Toronto is currently hosting the much-anticipated "Canada Series 1" by acclaimed local artist Benjamin Gibson, running through to the end of July as part of the centre’s Pride celebrations.
Benjamin Gibson, a renowned photographer and filmmaker based in Toronto, is a partner at the boutique media and digital advertising firm Toronto Creatives. Known for his compelling commercial work regularly displayed throughout the city, Gibson now offers a unique collection under a critical lens.
**About the Series:**
"Canada Series 1" provides viewers an introspective look into Canada’s diverse cultural landscape. As a queer man who has experienced both prejudice in small-town life and acceptance in Toronto, Gibson investigates the disparity between perception and reality in contemporary Canada. The series explores complexities—acknowledging national virtues while recognizing inherent imperfections.
**Artist's Statement:**
“I’m incredibly proud of the show, happy to be part of CF TD Centre Pride celebrations, and very happy the show is running to the end of July,” said Gibson. “I took about a month and a half driving with my partner and creative partner across the country exploring each major city and following roads less traveled to find those really hidden gems. They are probably being traveled all the time but no one here really ever sees them.”
This event is running through the end of July at 66 Wellington St. W. Toronto, Canada
Meet-ups with Benjamin Gibson will occur informally and be announced via his Instagram handle, [@ben_in_toronto](https://www.instagram.com/ben_in_toronto).
