Bata Shoe Museum's Warm the Sole Sock Drive
The BSM is excited to kick off the “Warm the Sole Sock Drive” on November 1st – our an annual fundraiser which collects socks for the Scott Mission. Socks are one of the first items people request when asking for assistance and are a staple of basic care for the homeless.
This year as part of our 20th anniversary celebrations we are extending our sock drive! Between November 1st and 30th visitors to the BSM are encouraged to bring a new pair of unworn socks for distribution to those in need by the Scott Mission. If you make a donation on a Saturday or Sunday during the drive can visit the BSM for FREE that day. There will also be arts and crafts available for kids, drop-in until 4pm on the weekends.
The BSM’s goal for this year’s drive is to provide enough socks to last the Scott Mission throughout the winter months. Did you know that socks are the most needed and least donated item of clothing? Help us to give the gift of warmth to our community! The BSM would like to thank community partner McGregor, who have generously donated 2000 socks to the drive!
