Nagata Shachu will present “Celebrate Japan in Scarborough!”, including a 30-minute hands-on Japanese taiko drum/movement workshop for all ages, followed by an exciting 60-minute taiko concert, and a 10-minute Q&A session. The program will take place in four Scarborough park locations in July and August. In addition to our thunderous taiko drums, the concerts will feature Japanese bamboo and a variety of traditional percussion instruments. Between songs, members of the ensemble will introduce the pieces, as well as give insight into our instruments and costumes, Japanese culture, and our artistic practice.
