Apollo & Daphne / Enoch Arden

In a beautiful, historic setting, bring your drink to a candlelit table and enjoy an exquisite evening of music, song, and experience two very different tales of transformation and desire.

Toronto Masque Theatre presents George Frideric Handel’s great Italian dramatic cantata Apollo & Daphne; a deeply moving exploration of the devastation unrequited love can have on those caught in its thrall. Featuring Canadian opera superstars Jacqueline Woodley & Geoffrey Sirett and dancer Stéphaie Brochard. With Larry Beckwith leading a baroque orchestra. Directed and choreographed by Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière.

The evening will also feature a complete performance of Enoch Arden, the heartbreaking story of a long-lost fisherman returning home. Created by Richard Strauss this drama with music is based on the epic narrative poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Performed by actor Derek Boyes & pianist Angela Park.
