Aki Kwey: Celebrating Sky Woman's Teachings through Indigenous Art

Hosted at 918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts, Media and Education, Aki Kwey is a multi-disciplinary art exhibition featuring works by Algonquin artist Doreen Stevens. Stevens explores the story of Sky Woman, guided by her spirit name, Animitagize-Odeying—"One who speaks with the heart," weaving lessons of growth and harmony. Aki Kwey showcases work from Algonquin illustrator and Hoop Dancer, Charlotte Aki, enhancing this vibrant narrative.

Opening Reception (w/ tea and small bites) on Oct 12th at 2:30 pm. Live drumming and singing performed by Doreen Stevens.
