Anastasia Minster is a Russian-born singer and composer currently based in Toronto, Canada. Inspired by Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Russian classical composers (Rachmaninoff, Skriabin, Stravinsky and others), Anastasia’s music is a fusion of jazz, folk and chamber rock. Hypnotic and ethereal, her voice floats through carefully crafted musical landscapes. Every song is a new world, fragile and dreamlike, full of bizarre imagery and unearthly creatures.
The core elements of A. Minster music are the grand piano and voice (Anastasia Minster), upright bass (Julian Anderson-Bowes, an active member of Toronto jazz scene), guitar (Jim McIntyre, founder of Miserere and Sea Snakes) and drums (Marc Stonestreet of Miserere).
