Rooted in Toronto’s rich history of diversity and creativity, this award is more than just recognition—it’s a platform for emerging talent, a celebration of authenticity, and a testament to the power of music as a force for change.

From underground venues to festival stages, OUTLINE amplifies voices that might otherwise go unheard. It’s about breaking barriers, redefining genres, and inspiring the next generation of artists to own their truth. Authenticity. Visibility. Empowerment. This is OUTLINE.

2025 Entry Criteria & Submission Details

📝 Entry Criteria:

To be eligible for the OUTLINE Award, applicants must meet the following requirements:

LGBTQ+ Identity & Representation – Open to artists who identify as LGBTQ+ or whose work significantly contributes to LGBTQ+ visibility and advocacy.

Residency – Must be a resident of Ontario, with a strong connection to the Toronto music scene.

Original Music – Submissions must include original compositions (no covers) released within the eligibility period.

Genre & Style – All musical genres are welcome—pop, rock, hip-hop, classical, electronic, indie, folk, and beyond. Innovation is encouraged.

Professional & Emerging Artists – Open to both established musicians and emerging talent making waves in the industry.

Authenticity & Impact – Artists should demonstrate a commitment to self-expression, empowerment, and breaking barriers in the music industry.

Live Performance & Engagement – While not required, preference may be given to artists with live performance experience or community engagement such as Volunteering, Mentoring, Etc.

Entry cost: $50 to cover admin costs (discounts available)

Submission Deadline: June 1st

Finalists Announced: August

Award Ceremony: September

Award prize: $500 first, $250 second and $100 third

All unsuccessful entries will be given 2 VIP Ceremony Tickets, 2 Playlist Adds and free Music Marketing Coaching & Support
