Ontario city is about to open its very first Costco location

Costco has announced that it is gearing up to bring the BOOM to another Ontario city with the forthcoming opening of the big-box brand's 42nd location in the province on Friday.

Ready for a Double Chunk Chocolate Cookie or a 24-pack of Kirkland socks, Brantford?

You'd better be, because you'll soon be the next city in Ontario to call itself home to a huge Costco warehouse. Brantford's first Costco warehouse will open just off Wayne Gretzky Parkway and next to Lynden Park Mall.

In addition to the brand's ubiquitous wallet-pleasing bulk essentials, the latest location is set to house two-dozen gas pumps and over 800 parking spots, on top of offering a selection of alcoholic beverages — a recent addition to Costco shelves in Ontario.

For those interested in the food court offerings, the new warehouse will also have the unique distinction of housing Ontario's first and only sushi department, serving the Japanese delicacy alongside the chain's legendary selection of other ready-to-eat foods.

According to Costco, the opening of the new warehouse has created 180 permanent and 80 seasonal jobs for the community, while other residents will be able to benefit from budget-friendly essentials, from clothing to groceries and booze — it's a true win-win.

The warehouse, located at 175 Roy Boulevard, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion at 6:30 a.m. this Friday before opening its doors to the public at 7 a.m.
