Cheesecake Factory slapped with 11 infractions from Toronto health inspectors

Toronto's only Cheesecake Factory was issued a conditional pass notice last week after health inspectors found nearly a dozen infractions.

The American chain — which boasts its only Canadian location at  Yorkdale Shopping Centre — is known for its vast menu options including its signature cheesecake.

After a visit to the restaurant on Oct. 16, inspectors handed down 11 infractions, three of which were crucial, five significant, and three minor.

The crucial infractions included failing to protect food from contamination or adulteration and maintaining potentially hazardous foods at an internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

Significant infractions involved failing to maintain the handwashing stations with liquid soap and paper towels, as well as using utensils that were not of readily cleanable form.

The minor infractions mostly concerned the sanitary conditions in the restaurant's food-handling room.

You can find a full list of the infractions on the DineSafe website.

Back in March, the restaurant passed its health inspection despite four infractions. The Cheesecake Factory will remain open for service and will be reassessed by inspectors soon.

blogTO has reached out to The Cheesecake Factory for comment on its latest health inspection results but did not receive a response.
