Toronto restaurant known for its hot rice bowls has permanently closed

A Chinese restaurant in Toronto known for its steaming hot rice bowls has permanently closed its doors after two years in business.

Eat Yet, formerly located at 409 Spadina Ave. in Chinatown, was known for its massive rice bowls that came with a variety of protein options, including chicken, black pepper beef, stir-fry BBQ beef, curry chicken, as well as pork and shishito pepper. 

Despite only opening its doors in 2022, the restaurant has since taken down its website and removed its items from food delivery apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash.

The restaurant has not made a formal announcement on its social media pages explaining the reasoning behind its abrupt closure. 

The business is set to be replaced by Nigerian restaurant, Naija Jollof Lounge, which already boasts locations around the GTA, including restaurants in North York, Mississauga, and Brampton.
