American sub chain Jersey Mike's opening first downtown Toronto location

Much-hyped U.S.-based sandwich chain, Jersey Mike's, will soon be opening their first location in Toronto.

After news broke earlier this summer that the iconic New Jersey sub chain would be opening their first GTA location in Markham, Toronto-based sandwich lovers were eager to find out when and where one would open within the city.

Well, the wait is nearly over, because there's officially a confirmed location for the first Jersey Mike's in Toronto — and it's right in the heart of the city.

Jersey Mike's first-ever Toronto location will soon be setting up shop in Union Station.

While there's no official opening date confirmed for the restaurant yet, signage has gone up at Union claiming the sandwich shop is "coming soon," so the wait shouldn't be much longer.

This will mark the fourth Canadian location for the chain, which is currently operating in London and Kitchener alongside the soon-to-open Markham restaurant.

The expansion isn't stopping with the Union Station location — the chain has plans to open more than 300 locations across Canada over the coming years as part of a partnership with Canadian restaurant operator, Redberry.
