Filipino night market coming to Toronto and it's being called an 'Ube Wonderland'

There's a Filipino night market coming to Toronto this summer, and it's all about ube.

Toronto is crazy for night markets — there's something about eating your favourite street foods under the open sky that makes it taste all the better — and luckily, there's one coming up right around the corner.

Pinay Tayo is back with their hugely popular Filipino night markets this September, bringing all of the flavours and culture of the Philippines to Toronto.

This time around, you'll be able to sample a slew of ube-based dishes, celebrating the dazzlingly violet root vegetable that's a staple in Filipino cuisine — from pastries to halo-halo.

There'll also be a host of food vendors offering other Filipino faves, like lumpia, adobo and pancit, if you're more into the savoury stuff.

Totally free to attend, the night markets will also feature plenty of non-food-related entertainment (if you're into that sort of thing), like live music and dance performances, games and art installations.

Vendor applications for the night market are currently open, so stay tuned to Filipino Night Market's social media to find out more about the food, shopping and entertainment that'll be coming to the night market.

The Filipino Night Market takes place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept 6 through 8 at Scarborough Town Centre.
