We asked people what they're eating and drinking in Toronto parks right now
It's been a glorious start to the Spring season in Toronto with temperatures well above seasonal averages so it's no surprise that people in the city have been heading out to parks to get some much needed vitamin D.
I wandered over to Trinity Bellwoods Park to see what people are eating and drinking at the park right now. Here is what I found.
Michelle Dashevsky and Luke Nash (pictured at top) are actually from New York and decided to enjoy their last moments of Toronto with a picnic before starting their drive back home.
The pair picked up an iced coffee, iced vanilla latte to drink and a sausage roll and bagel bomb to eat from White Squirrel across the street.
Aida Ciocuta and Lisa Boomsma are sipping on a decaf cinnamon latte and oat milk caramel latte from Cafe 23. There was an almond croissant that Ciocuta confesses to have eaten before speaking to me.
Both students, they decided to catch up with each other between assignments.
"Cafe 23 has an amazing back patio but it's closed- I'm glad because we can sit here instead," Boomsma tells me.
Gabriel Payne is a neighbourhood resident and student. He tells me he wanted to "come out and get some sun while studying for his exams and take advantage of the good weather."
Payne packed a quick lunch of roasted Brussels sprouts in the coolest Woody lunchbox.
Maya and Arden picked up a spread from Metro. It might be a perfect picnic of baguette, brie, prosciutto, and watermelon. Lemonade and ice coffee are from Cafe Neon.
"We live nearby and it's such nice weather, we wanted to come out with the dog," they explain.
Parnian Akhtari is drinking an iced latte with oat milk and eating a breakfast cookie from Cafe 23.
She tells me she's out enjoying her day because the school year is over- "I come here at least three to four times a week."
