Home Societe
Home Societe's massive store in the Castlefied Design District provides one of Toronto's most amazing furniture shopping experiences.
The furniture brand features tons of modern and high-end designs in their 80,000-square-foot space, making it a top destination when it comes to decking out your home.
It would be easy for a store this big to feel overwhelming, but it's neatly compartmentalized so that the different furniture brands they carry each have their own section on the floor.
There are also plenty of staff dispersed at desks — including one conveniently positioned in front of the entryway — that are evenly distributed throughout the store.
The main draw of Home Societe is their exclusivity. In fact, several of their more popular brands aren't sold anywhere else in Toronto.
Ligne Roset, for example, is a French contemporary residential furniture brand that's now exclusive to Home Societe's Toronto outpost.
Their iconic Togo chair is a bestseller, with the 50th anniversary celebration piece sitting proudly on display beneath the Ligne Roset sign.
Togo chairs at Home Societe start at $4,695, but the unique 50th anniversary edition costs $5,481.
Italian brand Kartell is another favourite that's exclusive to the store. Their acrylic-based furniture takes up a big portion of the store.
Lighting is also a Kartell specialty, with lamps starting at $419 and climbing as high as $1,339 for the powder-coated steel floor lamp.
For customers looking to support local designers, Home Societe has also hunted down some of the best in Canadian contemporary residential furniture designers and compiled the collection in a huge section labelled .ca.
Since the furniture here hails from a variety of styles and designers, there's a huge range of prices (if you're curious about specifics, you can check out Home Societe's online store).
A newer addition to the space is Moretti Caffe. Since opening in the winter of 2022, it's become a space to unwind after furniture shopping.
Walking through the enormous showroom works up quite the appetite, after all.
Moretti serves typical Italian fare at a relatively standard price point, with margherita pizza ($18), rigatoni alla vodka ($23) and chicken parmesan panino ($15) just a few of the dishes on the menu.
They also serve red and white wine by the glass or bottle, and Peroni beer for $12. The selection of whites average around $22 for a glass and $75 for a bottle, while reds are around $24 for a glass and $82 for a bottle.
If you're looking for a wide and exclusive selection of upscale contemporary furniture, the sheer volume of product at Home Societe is hard to beat.
You'll find Home Societe at 1270 Caledonia Rd.
