ttc subway closure this weekend

Key stretch of TTC subway will shut down for this entire weekend

TTC closures this weekend include a busy portion of the subway network at the heart of the Line 2 Bloor-Danforth route.

The TTC plans to shutter service on Line 2 between St. George and Broadview stations for the full weekend of Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 8, the latest in a string of pre-scheduled closures that the transit agency attributes to "planned track work."

The approximately 3.5-kilometre gap in subway service will be patched by shuttle bus service connecting the east and west sides of the route.

Bay and Sherbourne will be the only fully inaccessible stations along the closure, while all others will remain open for commuters to purchase/reload fares and connect with surface transit routes.

Things will be back to normal with the resumption of regular service on Monday, November 9 at approximately 6 a.m.

Disruption on Line 2 will be compounded by significant closures on Metrolinx's GO Transit network. Two full GO Lines serving Toronto will shut down for the upcoming weekend of Nov. 7-8, combining for what could be a difficult few days for commuters.
