The official list of U.S. products that will be subject to 25 per cent tariffs when imported into Canada was announced on Sunday, less than 24 hours after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau detailed some of the product categories affected in his speech to Canadians on Saturday evening.

On Sunday afternoon the Goverment of Canada provided a detailed list that will affect $30 billion of goods starting this Tuesday with a further list provided in 21 days time affecting $125 billion worth of products.

In addition to providing the list, the federal government announced there will be a process for "requesting remission of tariffs" in situations where similar goods not imported from the United States cannot be sourced or for other case-by-case situations.

Here's the official list of American products affected by the 25 per cent tariffs announced by Trudeau and the Canadian government.

• Live poultry including chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowls.
• Fresh, chilled or frozen meat, poultry and edible offal (internal organs).
• Pig fat, free of lean meat, and poultry fat, not rendered or otherwise extracted, fresh, chilled, frozen, salted, in brine, dried or smoked.
• Milk and cream including yogurt; buttermilk, curdled milk and cream, whey and kephir.
• Butter and other fats and oils derived from milk; dairy spreads.
• Cheese and curd.
• Eggs.
• Natural honey.
• Tomatoes, fresh or chilled.
• Leguminous vegetables, shelled or unshelled, fresh or chilled such as beans.
• Fruits and nuts, fresh or dried, whether or not shelled or peeled.
• Citrus fruit, fresh or dried such as oranges and mandarins, grapefruits and lemons.
• Melons (including watermelons) and papapayas.
