Ontario truck had so many violations cops needed 5 social media posts to list them

A dump truck driver is facing multiple charges after being stopped by Ontario police with an alarmingly long list of defects to their vehicle.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit shared a post on X showing a dump truck that was stopped by officers on Trafalgar Road at William Halton Parkway.

While it's not necessarily outwardly evident in a photo shared by police, the vehicle had so much going wrong that it's frankly a surprise that the truck was even capable of running.

Only a few defects fit in that initial post, and police had to go on to list a total of 17 infractions in a thread, where they described the truck as an "extremely unsafe vehicle removed from our roads."

  1. Expired Insurance Card
  2. Improper pre trip inspection
  3. Expired permit
  4. Driver watching video while driving
  5. Air Loss test FAIL
  6. Driver-side steer axle brake ruptured diaphragm audible air loss
  7. Passenger side steer axle brake out of adjustment
  8. Drive axle passenger side brake out of adjustment
  9. Driver-side lift axle loose suspension mounting bolt
  10. Driver-side drive axles loose suspension component
  11. Fully loaded, NON SPIF, driving with lift axle up, no grandfather certificate surrendered.
  12. Steer axle tires OVERLOADED by 1050kg/550kg
  13. Drive axle tires axle 3 pass side OVERLOADED by 700 kg
  14. OVERLOADED Gross allowable weight rating, no grandfathering certificate, by 9000kg
  15. OVERLOADED steer axle, lift axle not deployed by 2800kg
  16. OVERLOADED on duals, lift axle not deployed by 6300kg
  17. Driver side air tank loose, excessive movement.

Police closed out the thread by explaining that the vehicle's licence plates had been removed and its permit transferred to an "unfit driver" who is also the owner/operator, and now faces multiple charges.
