Toronto intersection to be shut down for almost two months for TTC track replacement
Another day, another intersection shut down due to TTC repairs.
The City of Toronto and TTC are replacing aging streetcar tracks at the intersection of King Street West and Shaw Street and resurfacing the road. They have also replaced 80 meters of the watermain along King Street West.

The intersection of King Street West and Shaw Street will be fully closed, with Douro Street and Strachan Avenue available for detour.
The Shaw Street bike lane will also be temporarily closed and cyclists are encouraged to dismount and use the sidewalks instead.

This is phase two of the infrastructure improvement projects being carried out by the city and is part of the Council-approved 2022 Capital Works Program.
Oh good. Because downtown needs another problem. @JohnTory A mayor of no solutions. I want to know how many emergency calls are delayed because first responders can’t get through gridlock. I’ve witnessed a lot.

The repairs are expected to start on Oct. 4 and last until mid November.
