Condo of the week: 80 John Street
This two-bedroom condo at the Festival Towers will give you free movie tickets, but only if you shell out $800K first. Situated atop of the TIFF Bell Lightbox, this unit on the 29th floor at King and John is a fun place to reside, offering movie passes and VIP access to the Toronto International Film Festival.
The 41-storey glass tower was built a couple years after TIFF parted ways from Yorkville, hoping to entice movie-goers to the neighbourhood. The Festival Tower, the only condo in Canada with a fully equipped 55-seat cinema, is known for its A-list amenities. An indoor pool, business and sports lounge, housekeeping, room service and dog-walking, to name just a few.
Even with the hotel-style services, the condo market is looking a little dire at the moment. Vacancies are at an all time high with more than 2,800 completed units unoccupied. There's too much inventory and prices are soaring. Will the condo bubble pop before the next red carpet event?

NOTABLE FEATURES
GOOD FOR
Film buffs. Included with purchase is a three-year TIFF membership, access to exclusive screenings and events. If nothing else, the owner is willing to throw in an autographed Tom Hanks poster. OMG.
MOVE ON IF
You hate crowds and movies. The Entertainment District is a lively area and a central hub for TIFF-goers taking selfies and international celebrities, especially in the fall. Move on if you need quiet, like birds chirping in Muskoka quiet, year round.
