Rob Ford wins council seat in Ward 2

Rob Ford will remain a voice in Toronto politics. Early polls suggest a landslide win over his competition in Ward 2. Media-friendly candidate Andray Domise promised to be competitive heading into the election, but the early numbers suggest that his campaign didn't resonate with voters in the Etobicoke North.

At present, Ford has received nearly 10,000 votes to under 2,000 for his nearest competition, including Domise. It's a runaway victory, though it remains unclear whether Ford's health will allow him to immediately assume his responsibilities as he undergoes cancer treatment. The former mayor of Toronto was, however, present at his brother's campaign headquarters as results came in. The mood was subdued given news of Tory's victory, but the Ford name will live on in Toronto politics -- for better or worse.
