John Tory holds strong lead in latest mayoral poll
Are you bored of mayoral polls yet? In the absence of the Ford brothers switch-up, this election might have hit the home stretch without much intrigue. And while each poll since the dramatic shuffle has put John Tory in a comfortable lead, the other candidates' numbers have yet to dip into the territory where we might start talking about a runaway victory. At least one pollster thinks Doug Ford still has a very solid chance of pulling off a last minute win.
The latest poll in the race breaks down as follows: Tory 40 per cent, Chow 25 per cent, and Doug Ford 23 percent. Completed by Mainstreet Technologies with a large sample size of 2,469 respondants, this survey gives Tory a similar lead to a recent poll from Ipsos Reid. Perhaps more significantly, however, is that this poll shows a seven per cent increase for Doug Ford since the company's last effort immediately after he entered the race. Can Doug Ford acquire some momentum now that he's campaigning?
