Photos of the 2011 Royal Winter Fair
The 89th annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is underway at the Exhibition grounds, running through to November 13th. All the traditional favourites are there including butter sculptures, giant vegetables (the largest pumpkin this year weighed in at just over 1199 pounds), the petting zoo (cute animal central), the Horse Show, and aisle after aisle of farm animals. Although the Fair occupies a less and less prominent position in the public imagination, it's offers an important contextual lesson regarding where our food comes from and should remind us that cities are fed by farms. Cliche as it might be, the Fair drives home how important this point really is.

Not what you hope to get in the candy machine
That sure looks like a "baaah," doesn't it?
