Bells on Bloor Bike Ride 2011

Photos of the 2011 Bells on Bloor bike ride

The annual Bells on Bloor bike ride took place on Saturday, with roughly 600 cyclists making their way from High Park to Queen's Park along Toronto's busy east/west artery. Despite the recent proposal to scrap the Environmental Assessment for bikes lanes on the Bloor/Danforth corridor, spirits were mostly high. Part this might be attributed to the weather — which was pretty much perfect — and part of it likely has to do with the participants determination to show resolve in the face of what would be a huge blow to their cause. Toward that end, many of the riders promised that they'd be at City Hall on Thursday when the Public Works Committee debates the 2011 bikeways plan.
