How blogTO Does the Long Weekend

Every September it's the same thing... I put on my best broken record routine and ask all my friends, "So, what are you doing for the long weekend?"

Genereally speaking, the response is pretty all over the board, with the majority doing nothing and the few real keeners heading to Ottawa (as if it's Canada Day) or driving way up to their parents' cottage.

This time around I turned to fellow blogTO writers and they were, simply, either full of suggestions (hiding their own lack of plans) or already out of town...

Jess, is not planning too much excitement. While probably heading to Carte Blanche on Sunday, that's really all she's come up with so far. Her disclaimer? "Boring I know...but I'm strapped for $$$$!"

Ryan, is pretty set on his intentions... like any good hip hop pilgrim, he'll be at the Toronto Urban Music Festival.

Tim is in Calgary for a wedding, but passed on a party suggestion for the rest of us at home: Summer Sundown on the Ultra Patio -- The Last Sunday Patio Party of the Year. Sunday @ Ultra with music by Jojo Flores.

Danielle admits her plans "aren't very TO-like"... she's off to Montreal. But it's for a wedding, so she's off the hook. ;)

Ryan says, "I usually work each weekend, but long weekends my restaurant closes. I'll be going away to a Muskoka cottage, lounging back, sipping ceasers and other rimmed drinks. Perhaps I'll invest in some cottage cheese. (But wouldn't chedder be cottage cheese if I enjoy while at a cottage?)" Cute, very cute.

Me? Well, I just got home from a 10 hour shoot day. *yawn*

Think I'll sit in my backyard with a drink and chill til Monday... then if this amazing weather holds up it's off to Beachfest at Sunnyside Park to see Kathleen Edwards and a long list of other amazing musical talents (ah-hem Sarah Slean, Ron Sexsmith and K-OS to name a few).
