Mora Tea Bar
Mora Tea Bar is a fancy cafe in Scarborough that serves up handmade bubble teas served in perfume bottles.
The brand is an original one from Toronto, and the cozy space exudes a slightly bougie, lounge-like ambience that wouldn't look out of place in somewhere like Yorkdale Mall.
The thing to get here are the cute Perfume series drinks, such as the Strawberry Milk ($7.90) containing a mixture of crushed strawberries and strawberry jam with milk. The best part: the glass perfume bottle container is yours to keep.
As the crowning jewel in Mora's lineup, these are regularly made every half hour so you know you're getting a freshly prepared batch.
Something that isn't visually striking but is nevertheless very unique is the Corn Milkshake ($5.90) which tastes like a sweet corn smoothie that I absolutely (and surprisingly) love.
More on the 'surprisingly good' category is the humble-yet-delicious Oreo Banana Milkshake ($5.90) containing a mashup of bananas and Oreo cookies.
For something light and refreshing, you can't go wrong with the Mixed Fruit Tea ($3.90) featuring large fruit chunks like watermelon, oranges, and grapes mixed with green tea.
Even the humble Milk Tea ($4.90) here gets the Mora facelift treatment. Get it with handmade flower tapioca (+$1.50), which is made using four kinds of edible flowers, and infuses the drink with a subtle floral flavour.
For matcha lovers, the Matcha Latte ($4.90) is a must-order. Featuring 100% matcha powder and fresh milk, without any other kinds of fillers or additives, it is refreshingly simple, yet satisfying. It's not too rich, with just a nice hit of bitter matcha flavour.
