Hey I am Yogost
Hey I am Yogost is bringing innovative yogurt-based drinks with diverse flavours and healthy toppings to Toronto.
Founded in Shenzhen, China, the brand makes their yogurt beverages with Greek-style yogurt sourced from local farms in Saskatchewan, resulting in a rich and creamy mouthfeel.
They have a selection of flavours, from classic rice yogurts to mochi and fruit, with Asian-inspired ingredients like red dates and rice wine.
For those who aren't used to the thickness of Greek yogurt, I'd recommend choosing half sugar and half ice to get an ideal balance of flavour.
Strawberry mochi yogurt ($8.50) is one of their top sellers. The soft and gooey mochi is a satisfying pairing with the sweet and rich strawberry yogurt, all complemented by airy whipped cream. Make sure to give it a nice stir before drinking so the layers mix.
Mango yogurt ($7.75) is true to its name — all you can taste is yogurt and fruity and fresh mango, resulting in a balance of sweet and sour.
Their peach strawberry yogurt slush ($8.50) is a refreshing blend of peach slush and crushed strawberry yogurt, where you can experience different textures (icy, smooth and soft) all in one cup.
You can't go wrong with their signature rice yogurt options, either, especially the rice yogurt with oats ($7.75), which has an oat layer beneath purple rice yogurt. The tender and chewy bites in this drink makes it a healthy snack between meals.
If you’d prefer a lighter option, go for their rice wine with osmanthus jello yogurt slush ($8.50). The gentle floral aroma of the osmanthus flowers and osmanthus jelly is a solid match to the creamy yogurt.
There's also a hint of sweetness from the fermented wine made of glutinous rice, making this one a personal favourite of mine.
They also provide pup cups, or "puppuccino drinks" made with their plain Greek yogurt to give doggos a chance to partake in a delightful treat.
The bright interior, along with the use of aesthetic marble and white, makes the space feel clean and fresh.
