Cuptrio

Cuptrio is the latest café addition to the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, and they're bringing some seriously unique concoctions with them.

Alongside the Dundas location of Master Mechanic (whose promo signs notoriously catch everyone's eye), families and friends of the area will now find the charmingly decorated Cuptrio.

Their wall of ice cream busts - made just for their space - makes up the picture-perfect background.

In the cozy and chic space, Cuptrio is serving up both well-crafted cups of simple coffee and the most Instagram-able latte art in the chicest mugs you've ever seen.

Find owner Maryana greeting you at the cash, happy to take your order.

When moving to Toronto several years ago, owner Maryana found herself fascinated by and immersed in coffee culture.

Previously an ice cream shop owner in Ethiopia, Maryana made the bold decision to combine her old love with her newest into one establishment.

The dedication to perfecting her business shines through in the vast and highly creative drink menu offered up at Cuptrio.

"Quality with convenience" is the motto Maryana aims to live by.

"Taste, flavour, and quality is not something we compromise on," she says.

Cuptrio pays homage to true coffee lovers with drinks like the simple Espresso over ice ($4).

Serving up certified fair-trade coffee that's roasted locally and sourced from Ethiopian farmers Maryana ensured she met herself first, the drinks at Cuptrio are quite the curated experience.

The care for their menu shows itself in the mesmerizing cup choices.

For something more classically iconic, customers can grab a Shakerato: a traditional Italian drink of sweetened espresso shaken over ice, cocktail-style.

Shakerato ($5.50), the perfect bougie drink for your Sunday morning catch-up.

If you're craving a more adventurous option, either the Zesty Shot – (a combo of espresso and orange juice, "the morning favourites together" in Maryana's eyes) or the Matcha Spritzer are updated takes on classic café drinks.

Sweetened matcha tea, sparkling water, and orange juice make up the Matcha Spritzer ($6.75).

Maryana insists her Matcha Spritzer creation is the perfect introduction to the Japanese tea, especially since it's often an acquired taste.

In Cuptrio's take, you'll get all the rich earthiness of the tea, now vibrantly matched with sweet, citrusy juice.

Local bakery Circles & Squares provides sweet, tempting treats.

Cuptrio isn't just here for the caffeine-craving adults, though. Locally-crafted ice cream in classic flavours like vanilla and chocolate are on the afternoon menu as well.

When opening up shop in the notoriously family-friendly Roncesvalles neighbourhood, Maryana knew combining "two of the best things in life" would make Cuptrio an easy hit.

"You're out with your kids, you don't have to go elsewhere for the ice cream. Parents can come and enjoy their coffee, too."

Enjoy your ice cream first, then slurp up the espresso in this slow-dripping Affogato ($7.50).

Case in point: Cuptrio's Affogato, a decadent combo of silky ice cream and rich espresso is served in a unique slow-dripping cup so you can take your time and savour each ingredient.

They're looking forward to having vegan ice cream options (in flavours like pineapple and pistachio), as well as a lunch menu in the near future.

All drinks come with an organic (and delicious) Italian biscuit, on the house.

"In a couple years, you're going to find us on every street corner," shares Maryana.

And with bespoke drinks as lovingly crafted as this, we can easily imagine Cuptrio making a big impact on the city.
