AGO Gets Close

This Saturday June 23rd the AGO opens its doors to a number of new exhibitions. For contemporary art enthusiasts, the one to definitely check out is "A Couple of Ways of Doing Something" by Chuck Close.

This spotlight on some of Close's more recent work includes seven large scale tapestries of portraits of many of the artist's friends such as Cindy Sherman, James Turrell, Andres Serrano and Phillip Glass (above). All were produced with the help of Magnolia Editions and their weavers in Belgium.

A Couple of Ways of Doing Something is one of five exhibitions that will be on display this summer. Others are listed on the AGO's web site
